Capital Point Insurance was founded in 1963 by Nikitas G. Kambanis in Potomac, Maryland, with a simple conviction: that families and small businesses deserved an insurance advisor on their side, not a salesperson on a carrier’s side. More than 60 years later, the agency he started is now run by his children — Marietta Kambanis Frizzell, George Kambanis, and Anna Manolakos — who each carry on his approach of long-term relationships, careful coverage placement across multiple A-rated carriers, and being there when claims happen.

We rebranded from Federal Insurance Federation to Capital Point Insurance in April 2024, but the family, the office, the phone numbers, and the way we do business are unchanged.

Licensed Across 15 States

While the agency is rooted in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia metro — where it was founded in 1963 and where most of our clients still live and work — we’ve grown our licensed footprint to 15 states over the years to follow clients as their lives and businesses expand.

Marietta Kambanis Frizzell

Vice President

Insurance professional since 1991, joining Capital Point Insurance (then Federal Insurance Federation) in 2005. Marietta focuses on commercial lines across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia metro — general liability, workers’ compensation, commercial property and auto, and the multi-coverage Business Owner’s Policies most small businesses need. She holds a Property & Casualty insurance producer license and is bilingual in English and Greek.

A graduate of the University of Maryland (B.S. Marketing, 1991), Marietta brought 14 years of insurance experience with her when she joined the agency her father founded.

Anna I.K. Manolakos

Vice President

Insurance professional since 1999, when she joined the family agency (then Federal Insurance Federation). Anna focuses on personal lines — auto, home, condo, renters, umbrella, and life insurance — for families across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia metro. She holds a Property & Casualty insurance producer license and is bilingual in English and Greek.

A graduate of West Virginia University (B.S. Hospitality, 1995), Anna brings a service-industry sensibility to insurance — coverage placement is half the job; being available when something goes wrong is the rest. Outside the office, she volunteers at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral and at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, Maryland.

George Kambanis

Vice President
Insurance professional since 2022, when he joined the family agency founded by his father. George focuses on high-value home and auto, personal lines, and commercial insurance for clients across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia metro. He holds a Property & Casualty insurance producer license.

A graduate of Kenyon College (B.A. Psychology, 2002), George works alongside his sisters Marietta and Anna as the second generation running the agency. Outside the office, he is an active member of Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral and the father of four — coaching several of their sports teams and spending most weekends running, cycling, or playing whatever sport his kids are currently obsessed with.
