Our Commitment to Accessibility
Capital Point Insurance is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
We believe that all visitors — regardless of ability, technology, or context — should be able to access information about insurance, request quotes, file claims, and contact our agency without barrier.
Accessibility Standard
Our website strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide array of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the standard most commonly referenced for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act.
Conformance Status
We strive to maintain partial conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partial conformance” means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to improve accessibility across all areas of our website.
Features Implemented for Accessibility
Capital Point Insurance has implemented the following features to support accessibility:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy (one H1 per page, logical H2/H3 structure) for assistive-technology navigation
- Alternative text for informational images
- Keyboard navigation support for all interactive elements
- Sufficient color contrast between text and background, meeting or exceeding WCAG AA ratios
- Resizable text that scales without loss of content or functionality up to 200%
- Descriptive link text avoiding “click here” patterns
- Form labels associated with their inputs for screen-reader compatibility
- HTTPS encryption for secure transmission of personal information
- Mobile-responsive design for accessibility on phones, tablets, and assistive devices
- Click-to-call phone numbers usable by voice-activated dialers
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content on our website may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:
- Third-party content. Some embedded forms, quoting tools, or carrier portals are operated by third parties and may not meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We are working with vendors to improve accessibility of third-party tools or to provide accessible alternatives.
- PDF documents. Some PDF documents linked from the Site may not be fully tagged for screen readers. If you need an accessible version of any document, please contact us — we will provide an accessible alternative within five business days.
- Legacy content. Older blog posts and pages predating our accessibility initiative may not yet meet current standards. We are systematically updating older content.
Compatibility with Browsers and Assistive Technology
Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack
- Voice recognition software including Dragon NaturallySpeaking
- Browser zoom up to 200%
- Operating-system high-contrast and large-text settings
We support the latest two major versions of the following browsers:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Apple Safari
- Microsoft Edge
